Dear Layla,
If you can't tell by the shitty ass handwriting, then hi, hello, it's Rivr.
"Wait...did I just spell my name wrong?" River had said out loud, raising his eyebrows at the major mistake. He crossed it out, but then shook his head and scrunched it up into a paper ball "She reads that one and think that I'm the stupidest guy in the world..." The sandy-brown haired boy sighed as he drummed his pen impatiently against his computer desk, looking over to his overfilled waste paper-basket. How many times had he tried to write out this letter to Layla? Probably too many times for him to care to count, but he just didn't know how to tell her in person about how he felt...which was weird behaviour from him to anyone who had known him well. In fact, after a minutes had gone by with him sitting on his window seat, staring out into the sky to practice what he would say in the letter, since making it up spontaneously was just not his thing. A few seconds later, the vibration from his iPhone had awakened his body. It was from Soleia, his best friend that he had known since forever.
"Thinking of her, are we? Or have we finally realised that even the sky comes out in the morning too? "
Wait, how did she...
And as his eyes had shifted downwards, surely there she was. Soleia Chambers, the only girl who he didn't have to write a letter regrading his feelings because, quite frankly, he didn't see her like that and she wouldn't think he was becoming a freak. Well, ask him to do it in kindergarten then maybe he'd be somewhat worried...come on, he was a boy with a stressful life...he was surely going to like his best friend at one point...but hey, she thew is bouquet down and starting to throw rocks at him when they were in kindergarten, so instead they became joined at the hip.
"Come on loser, we're going shopping!" She called, tossing an apple in her hand with a grin. River started laughing at the Mean Girls reference and had pulled on his hoodie, grabbing his school bag and realising that they were going to be so late for first period, let alone homeroom. But sure enough, he had her back to wait for him and sacrifice her time after school to spend a possible detention with him. And as she'd always say...
---
"What are best friends for?!"
Soleia sniggered as she pushed River into Layla whilst she was off talking to her friend by her locker. Oh, how e was CRAZY for her, it was actually quite adorable...but she liked messing with him, clearly making it obvious that she had entered the room and mentioning River's name repeatedly to her whenever they conversed, or just randomly in the air. As River quickly shoved a middle finger to her, she started chuckling hard and had ran away before he could catch up with her. Plus, she had just given her his queue to talk with her for the first time in the day, which he actually had found it hard to do as charismatic and hilarious as he was.
Without her best friend by her side, Soleia suddenly felt empty and frightened again, shaking a litte. "N-no...not here, a-and n-not now..." She whispered to herself, smiling as people greeted her as she walked by. She was that kind of popular where people liked her for her and could get along with her, have a laugh and a joke with her, unlike The Plastics of the school, which consisted of bimbos and bitches, splashing their cash and dragging their boyfriends, that usually changed every few days, with them.
Soleia wasn't thinking straight as she had thought back to that day...that day when the accident happened. Consequently, as she had turned a quiet corner in the school hallway, she had bumped into someone and fell to te ground a hand to her hed, her chocolate hair covering her face and the beauty that she had gotten from her mother. Her mother...tears started to well in her eyes as she stayed silent.
Yes, I did just combine Rivella and Jackie. Yes, I am amazing. Shhhhhh ~
