for me and Tokyo :3

As soon as you stepped into high school that first day back in Freshman year you knew grades were everything. You lived, breathed, ate, and slept grades. You did nothing but study, and you have for the last three and a half years. No one is in the running for Valedictorian other than you, well other than one person. This boy. You detest this boy with a passion. He's the kind that can sleep through the class and still get an A on the test. His reason to live is basketball, not even grades. And it makes you mad since you think he doesn't deserve it. From day one you have labelled him the senseless jerk. All the girls are in love with him, and he supposedly has a thing for you. Yeah right you would never even think of it because it's him, that dumbass that deserves to fail. You don't want anything in your way of Valedictorian with your pretty 4.6 GPA, and yet there he sits neck in neck with you. Nothing could change what you think of this boy, nothing. Not friends, teachers, parents, you just detest him. Well what happens when a meeting brings you together? Could you possibly be falling for the enemy you swore you'd never fall for?

You and your girlfriend are considered to be the perfect couple. You both love each other to death, have your little inside jokes and just click in with each other. However, one day, your girlfriend gets into a horrible accident. She ends up being at the hospital in coma. Of course you are anxious and worried, keeping by her side everyday. She then suddenly snaps out of her coma after several weeks. You are really happy and you start hugging her and telling her how much you love her. She on the other hand gives you a blank look before asking, "Who are you?" It seems that she has lost her memory after the accident! What will happen? Will you try to get your relationship back together or let her start over again?

Where do you want me to reply from for cassia? When they go to the summer house or when she's in hospital?

Whatever is fine
Are we making them all at the same school?

Ok I'm gonna start with a bit of an explanation of her before the accident and then when she's in hospital I think.

Yeah that sounds good. And I was thinking when Cassia was at home while Michael was in pairs she could have been decorating an apartment for them as a surprise? We could say they were like 18 if they're still in high school and are about to start college so she wanted to surprise him by getting them their own place and moving their stuff in?

Cassia smiled as she waved Michael off, blowing him a kiss before mouthing I love you to him. She waved one last time as she watched him disappear into the crowd of people heading towards security. The last day had been amazing and incredibly special. Michael had surprised her by taking her to his parents summer house. He had told her stories about his time there and it sounded amazing, she was excited to finally see the place he loved so much. The night was perfect. They spent their time together cuddled up under the stars, laughing and joking and just enjoying being together. It had  truly been perfect. She could definitely say she was madly in love with her boyfriend, he was everything she could have ever asked for. He was her best friend as well as anything else. He meant the world to her and she was so happy they were together. Everyone always said how perfect they were together. They were even said to have been put down as the most likely couple to get married in the school's yearbook. She gave him one last wave before she headed home, excitement running through her veins. Before she went to meet Michael in Paris she was going to decorate the apartment she had gotten for them and move all their belongings in.
A few weeks later it was the night before Cassia was due to fly to Paris to meet Michael. She was excited to be with him, the weeks without him felt like years. The apartment was all done and decorated and their stuff sat proudly in the new furniture she had gotten and built herself. She was going to spend the night there before she flew as it was closer to the airport. She had just said goodbye to her parents, telling them both she would see them soon and that she loved them. She grabbed her bag and keys and headed to her car. Once in the car she turned on the CD player so she could listen to the CD that Michael had made her before she started driving. As she drove she couldn't stop thinking about how happy she was and how in love she was. Just as she drove round the corner towards their apartment a truck came flying towards her. She swerved the car, trying to move away but there was nothing she could do to avoid it. The tuck hit her with full force and her car was crushed between the side of a building and the truck. The truck had been stolen by some drunk teenagers.
Five weeks later Cassia was still in hospital unconscious. Cassia didn't understand what was happening, she felt like she was in a constant dream that she couldn't wake up from. She felt like she was watching a film. She could see all the memories of a couple, a beautiful couple who were perfect for each other. She couldn't see who these people were but she knew that they loved each other. She didn't realise that it was her and Michael in the dream. Her fingers twitched a little as she waited to watch more memories of the couple in her mind but they never came back. Instead she was greeted with harsh white light. She squinted, looking around. All she could see was white. White walls, white floors, white ceilings. Even white lights. She felt a gentle weight in her hand and her eyes flickered down to it. There was someone's hand in hers. Her eyes traveled up the arm that belonged to the person holding her hand and her eyes settled on an unfamiliar person. She frowned as she looked at him. ''Who are you?'' she asked a frown on her face as she  tried to sit up. She let out a little yelp as she felt a searing pain in her back.

(Also I apologise if this is poop compared to Cassia, I'm so bad at playing guys haha)
Mat smiled as he got out of his car, pushing some hair out of his eyes as he did so. He loved school but not for the academic side of things, for the social aspects. He loved being friends with most people in the school and getting to talk to so many different people. He also loved playing sports. Sport was his life and he was even on pretty much every school team they had. Minus the cheerleading  squad. He was the guy that everybody loved. He wasn't the kind of popular guy who was horrible to everyone either, he was a genuinely nice guy. He nodded at some people as he walked towards the school, giving waves here and there. He had a meeting to attend with the principal and this girl who did as well as him in school. Mat wasn't the typical guy who played sports, he wasn't dumb. In fact, he was incredibly smart and that showed in his work. He had made it onto the honors list since high school began. He and the girl he would be with in the meeting had been fighting for the number one spot for years. He took his sunglasses off and put them in his bag before he walked to the principals office. He sat outside and waited, wondering what this would be about. He had a feeling it might be something to do with valedictorian.

Cassia felt the worst pain she had ever experienced in her life. Her entire back felt like it was on fire and she just ached. She felt exactly like she should have, like she'd been hit by a car. She looked at the man holding her hand and thought, he looked like someone she knew, but an older version of someone she knew. She thought about it but as she was about to reach her answer doctors came rushing in. She watched the man leave and she couldn't help but frown, trying to remember where she had seen him before. She once again lost her thoughts as the doctors began to ask her questions. ''What's your name?'' they asked, she replied, telling them her full name. ''How old are you?'' they asked ''14.'' she replied. The doctors frowned, she was actually 18 and it was four years later. They did the light check on her and then gave her some medicine to help her not be in as much pain. ''Can my family come in?'' she asked, wanting to see them. ''Yes, they can. They have a few things to tell you though, Cassia.''She had so many questions to ask them. When her parents finally entered the room she couldn't help but frown, they looked so much older than the last time she had seen them. Her fathers hair was now completely grey and he had more wrinkles. Her mothers hair was not as bright as it once had been and her skin was more aged. Christian and Carmela Valentine looked down at their daughter, sad smiles on their faces. They were so happy she was awake but they were sad for her at the same time. The doctors told them about her memory, about how she couldn't remember the happiest memories of her life. Their hearts broke for Michael. They were also sad for Cassia because her life wouldn't be normal for a long time. She had to have an operation on her back and legs and she would have to go through months and months of physio therapy before she would be able to get up and walk again. She would be wheelchair bound for a long time.  ''Hi mum, hi dad.''she said with a small smile on her face. Her dad gave her a small smile ''Hello, sweetheart. Listen princess we need to tell you some things. You aren't fourteen anymore sweetie, you're eighteen. You've just graduated high school.'' he told her, biting her lip as he watched her reaction. Cassia frowned ''I'm 18? But.. that can't be true! I've only just started high school.'' she said, confused. Why can't I remember? ''Mum, who was that man holding my hand when I woke up? he looks like someone but an older version. I don't know why he would be holding my hand.'' she said with a frown but then she remembered. On her first day of high school, what she thought was a few days ago, she had met someone who looked like a younger version of him. She hadn't made any friends and some of the older people were picking on her because she looked younger and more childish than the rest of the new high schoolers. This guy told them off and wiped her tears away as well as sharing a cookie with her. Why was here now? she wondered. Was it his older brother or something?

Mat looked up when he heard voices and his lips tilted upwards into a small smile when he saw Sara. He always saw her around. She was beautiful and she seemed like a genuinely nice person. He use to see her all the time when she was on the running team. They never spoke but they had to spend a lot of time with their teams so they had to see each other a lot. Although this was the first time he had seen her in a long time. He gave her a little nod and smile ''Sara.'' he said as he rested his arms on his knees and leaned forward ''Haven't seen you around in a long time. How are you?'' he asked her, not having any clue as to how much she disliked him. He always wondered what she was like, she use to seem so happy and care free when she was on the running team and she had a lot of friends. It made him wonder why she had barley any now though. What had changed? He was about to speak but the principal called their names. He wasn't sure what was going to happen in the meeting but he kind of hoped they would have to work on the valedictorian speech together, he found himself wanting to know more about the mysterious Sara, find out more about her. Find out what caused to basically become invisible these last few years. He held the door open for her and then took a seat.

Cassia laid in her bed, tears falling slowly down her cheeks as she stared up at the ceiling. She felt sick. She couldn't remember a thing of the last four years. What had she missed? Did she have a lot of friends? Had she finally gotten her first kiss and first boyfriend? What college would she be going to? Was she friends with the guy who was at her side when she woke up, the guy she could remember from her first day at high school? She felt awful if she was and she couldn't remember him. She saw the look on his face when she asked who he was and it was stuck in her mind. It looked like pure heartbreak. She also felt sick at the thought that she wouldn't be able to do much for herself for a long time. She would have to have help to do the most simplest of things, she wouldn't be able to get into the shower herself or walk up the stairs herself. She wouldn't even be able to get in and out of bed herself. She hated the thought, she didn't want to become a burden to her family. She didn't want them to get annoyed or frustrated with her. Sobs shook her body as she closed her eyes tightly, wishing she could go back to the night of the accident.
A few days later she was aloud to leave the hospital. She was happy to be going home but she was scared about having to ask for everything to be done for her. It was ok in the hospital when she didn't have to bother her parents as much. ''Mum I've been thinking. I want to talk to Michael. He's the only thing from my high school experience I can remember and I want to find out more about that time. Maybe it will help. He also he looked really sad when I didn't know who he was and I want to say sorry. I don't want to make anyone sad. Do you think he would come and talk to me when we get home?'' she asked. She'd been wondering more and more about him and her mum wouldn't tell her anything about her friendship with him and anything that happened. She wanted to know more. Once she was home her mum told her she would ask. She sat in her bedroom, in her wheel chair, looking out of the window, wondering if he would come to see her. Part of her really hoped he would.

Mat smiled back and stood as the principal called them in. He knew that valedictorian would be given to Sara, no doubt about it. He knew she deserved it. He stepped into the office after holding the door open for Sara and then took his seat at the side of her. When the head teacher congratulated him on winning the state championships for their school for the third year in a row. He couldnt help but grin "Thank you sir, it was an honour to have the chance to be captain again this year." he said, his entire face lighting up. He loved sport, it was pretty much his world. He had gotten a scholarship to Yale for basketball. He was going to study science as well as play. He couldn't wait for college to start. He was looking forward to playing with some incredibly talented people. He bit his lip as he listened to the principal say who was going to be valedictorian. To say he was shocked would be an understatment. He didn't expect to be picked, he always thought it would be Sara who got picked. He sho his head "Sir can't we both do a speech? Or write a speech together? I feel like Sara deserves it way more than I do. Is there anyway we could both do it?" He asked, hoping the principal would be happy with that idea. He wanted Sara to achieve her dream as well as getting the chance to talk to her more. She intrigued him.

Fab :) will edit cassia into this once you've edited Michael in :3
Mat bit his lip and nodded "Yes sir, joint valedictoria. We have both worked incredibly hard for this and it would be great for us to both get this opportunity and it will looks great for the both of us. I know college look highly upon on it so it would be brilliant for both myself and Sara." He said as he ran a hand through his hair, hoping that the principal would agree with his idea. Part of him was wondering if he should have just let sara have it but then he wanted to have a chance too. It would make him look even better for college and that was great because he wanted to do anything he could to ensure that he kept his place. He dreamed of going to university for years. He turned his head and glanced at Sara, wondering what she was thinking. Wondering if she was ok with the idea. He didn't see why it would be a problem, it would work perfectly for both of them. He couldn't help but grin when the principal said yes. He was half expecting him to say no, so the fact he had said yes was great. He got to be half a valedictorian and he got to spend some time with a girl he had always sort of liked in some way. It would be perfect. "We can work on it together." Mat told her with a smile "We could meet up after school if you like or in school at lunches and stuff? We're are going to be the best valedictorians this school will ever and have ever seen." He told her with a big grin. He was oblivious to how heartbroken she was feeling. He looked at the principal "Is there anything else sir?" He asked, his eyebrow raising slightly.

Cassia sat there for hours, not knowing what to do with herself. She couldn't do much. As day turned to night she realised that he wasn't coming. Part of her felt sad but then part of her understood. She was his girlfriend who couldn't remember him. She couldn't imagine how that must feel for him, to love, have loved someone who can't even remember you. It was bad enough for her not being able to remember but it must have been worse for him. He was left with all the memories. Even though he didn't come to see her she still wanted to say sorry. After a little struggle she managed to move her wheelchair over to her dressing table. She reached for her notebook and took hold of a pen and began to think of what to write. She was going to write him a letter. She wrote:

Dear Michael,

I know you probably don't want to hear from or see me right now but I just wanted to apologize. I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart that I can't remember. I'm surrounded by pictures of us and I can see from just the pictures how much you loved me. How much I loved you. And I can't imagine how that must feel for you. When I first woke up and asked who you were the look on your face just made me feel sad and I can't seem to get that image out of my mind. I'm trying so hard to remember, to remember everything that happened between us but no matter how hard I try I can't remember. But the worst part is is that I can remember you, just not as much as I want to or you want me to. I can remember the first day we met. How you told the older kids to stop picking on me and then how you wiped my tears away and then shared your cookie with me. Realizing i knew who you were I wanted to know more. You're the only thing from my high school experience I can slightly remember. I guess I thought if I spoke to the one person I could remember that it might help me to remember more things. But then I realised that I'm not the only one the accident affected and that it's probably hard for you to think of me. In a way I guess I'm sort of a stranger who's replaced your girlfriend. I will try my hardest to remember but if I don't then please remember that when I could remember you and our relationship I did love you. I can tell I did from the pictures and other little things I've found in my room so don't forget that. If you don't want to see me at all and want to move on because I may never get my memory back, then I understand and I wish you luck with everything.

I'm sorry,

Cassia.

She sighed as she looked down at the page now full of writing and frowned, not really knowing if she had said everything she had wanted to. After reading it over she nodded, deciding that she would get her mother to get it to him somehow. She asked her mother and her mother agreed that she would get it to Michael as soon as possible. Cassia gave her a smile and nodded, not saying anything else. She felt isolated from everyone she knew because they knew more about her than she knew. They knew things she had done that she didn't and knew everything about her and she didn't. She felt like a stranger in her own home. Even in her own body. She felt like she was just there, not able to do anything for herself or to even just do anything. She hated it and she didn't know what to do to not feel like this. All she had really been doing is spending time on her own and feeling like crap. She didn't know how she could make things any better.

Mat followed her out of the office and nodded his head ''That's good because I can't do Wednesday and Friday either. I've got basketball games on Friday's and then I have to pick my little sister up from school and look after her on a Wednesday. What about Monday after school? coach gives us Monday's off from practice so I'm free all after school and all evening.'' he said as he lifted his bag up onto his shoulder as he looked down at her. As they stared at each other he bit his lip, wondering what she was thinking. He noticed how much she had changed since they sort of knew each other. She had grown up so much that she could almost be a different person. She looked even more beautiful than he remembered. But she also looked as if she had the weight of the world on her shoulders, as if she could never truly let go and enjoy herself. It made him wonder what made her like that. When he heard Rosa's voice he had to hold back a chuckle. Rosa happened to be a very good friend of his mothers and he had asked about Sara a couple of times, wondering if she was still in school. At time it was almost like she had dropped of the face of the earth, especially since they had no classes together. It was almost like if she wasn't on the honors roll above or under his name he wouldn't know she was still there and she didn't understand why. She used to have so many friends and get on with everyone so he wondered why she was now on her own. ''Thanks Rosa.'' he said with a little grin, giving her a wink. ''Why don't we go grab a coffee or something?'' he asked, turning his attention to Sara. ''Get to know each other a little better before we get started on the speech?'' he asked.

Cassia sighed a little as she laid on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She had been doing that a lot lately. Most of her time was spent in her room. When she spent time with her parents she could tell they were still finding it hard to come to terms with her not remembering. They were being supportive but she could tell they were being cautious around her. She hated being like this, she hated not being able to get on with her parents like normal. She had remembered a few things, but only really small things like a joke her dad told her or the time her mum got her a new bag. They were stupid little things but it was something and it made her happy that she could at least remember something. She hated not being able to remember, she wished there was a button she could press to get it back. She just wanted to feel normal again, she wanted to be able to walk and do things for herself and be able to laugh and talk with her parents about memories and just be care free and happy again. She was getting more and more frustrated and angry with herself. She grabbed  a pillow and chucked it at the wall. She was just angry. Angry she had lost a big part of her life she would never get back. Angry she had hurt so many people. Just as she was about to grab another pillow when her phone went off. She'd looked threw it, looking at all the pictures of her and Michael and their texts. It made her feel a little happy but sad at the time. She grabbed her phone and her heart skipped a beat when she saw Michael's name. Did he want to speak to her? Had he got the letter? She leaned over to her bedside table, wincing a little at the pain in her back before she laid back down and answered. She bit her lip softly, feeling a little nervous. ''Hello?'' she asked, not knowing what to say.

As they walked Mat wasn't sure if she would want to spend some extra time with him or not. Before she had been pretty easy to read, you could see how she was feeling. But now it was like she was a closed book. He knew they had never been friends but they were friends with some of the same people so he had been around her a lot without spending time with her directly. He didn't want to force her into it or anything so he guessed he would just leave it. When they reached her locker he stood, wondering what her answer would be. He was half expecting her to say no but when she said yes he couldn't help but smile a little. ''I do actually. There is a bakery not too far away that not many people know about. It's a cafe as well and they have quirky furniture and great drinks. They use all different combinations. They do great cake too.'' he said as he leaned against the locker next to hers ''I'll drive us there if you like?'' he asked her with a raised eyebrow. He was looking forward to getting to know her. It was one thing he loved doing, getting to know people. He loved learning about different peoples backgrounds and that no matter how different they were they were still getting to know each other.

Cassia bit her lip softly as she listened to him speak. She felt oddly relaxed as she focused on his voice. ''Hi. Thank you for calling me, I didn't think you would. I'm guessing you got my letter?'' she asked as she held her phone to hear ear. She wanted to sit up properly but she needed help to get there so she would just have to stay laying down for now. ''That would be great. It would be nice to see someone other than my parents. And anytime really, I have literally nothing to do because I can't do anything really so you can come over when ever you want to. Could you maybe take me somewhere? I've been stuck in the house since I got home and I'm feeling slightly like a prisoner.'' she said with a small laugh. It was true, she did feel like a prisoner. She was pretty much confined to the four walls of her room. She felt like she was a prisoner in her own body really, she couldn't do anything for herself she was just there. ''How are you?'' she asked, wanting to know if he was ok. She knew he wouldn't be completely ok but she still wanted to ask. She heard her mum come upstairs and ask who was on the phone ''Michael.'' she said quietly. Her mum then helped her sit up and lifted her into her wheel chair so she could move around. She thanked her mum quietly and watched her leave. She looked in her mirror and bit her lip. She had already gotten ready for the day. She was wearing a summer dress that was loose and comfy but also really pretty. Her bruised legs were on show but it felt much better for her. She pushed herself over to her dressing table and placed her phone down, turning the call onto loud speaker. She then started to do her makeup. She didn't really know why but she wanted to look nice for when Michael came. She kind of hoped that they would still get on and they if they did she might start to remember. After reading third old texts and looking st photos she wanted their relationship back. It seemed so perfect. Would it get back to being perfect or would I just fall apart? That's what she wasn't sure of.

Mar at smiled back at her and lead her to his car, saying hello to a few people as they navigated their way through the school. He noticed people whispering but he shook his head, they had no right to whisper. Couldn't they just be friends and not have to have people whisper about them. Once they reached his car he couldn't help but grin "Thanks. Believe it or not I built this baby myself. I bought myself all the new parts and put it together and made look as good as new. Much cheaper than buying the real thing." He laughed. His parents did have money, they were one of the most well off families in the area but he didn't want to live off of their money. He wanted to make his own and find his own way in this world. They offered to buy him a car but he wanted to get one himself so he got himself a job and got all the parts to build one. It was much more enjoyable and he also got the help of his older brother so it made them bond in a way. Mat got into the drivers seat and started the car. Once they had both got their seat belts on he pulled out of the car park, heading for the little bakery. "So how have you been? It's been a long time since I've seen you." he said, glancing over st her as he stopped st the traffic light.

It was lovely thank you. Made me realise just how happy I was to be back up north haha. It's getting so cold too, I love it! ❤️
