Because I assume you mean conservative in the sense of American politics. I refuse to apply any aspect of American politics onto my personal political views. Whatever mess they are doing over there is none of my business whatsoever.

Yes. Holding information back while stating that there is information that is held back isn't a lie, claiming something that is not the case is. Also, not telling the full truth without lying is still the truth, even if some information is held back.

I wouldn't say that somebody that enjoys being a shady person sounds like a very honest person

I am honest tho, but honesty is gradient. There's a lot of things my parents should morally know about my life which I don't tell them because I don't want to, they never ask about it and I never bring it up, so I don't lie I'm just not actively telling the truth.
