this is gonna be mad controversial but i really did not like the vp refresh that happened in 2019(?), i personally preferred the old style and i don't think that the new ui offered many benefits. i think nostalgia and retro are far more appealing than '''slick''' and '''modern''' ui elements since a lot of us are here for escapism and to play dress up
i do think tumblr should be the main place to advertise the site, also wouldn't hurt to hop on blueskies too?
as for the coding of the website, i know enbette is a SUPER STAR with javascript and has made some awesome scripts to make the site more functional. i am confident enough in php/sql to make some updates that have been discussed before (adding a feature where you collect pieces for a clothing set by logging in each day, adding a 'pet' feature of some kind that you log in daily to care for, etc)
i know i advocated for this years ago and was even part of a group from vp that was working on a new game but fell apart because a lot of us were students who were too busy and we weren't super organised on the programming side (blaming myself a lot here i was NOT in a place to be committing any time to making the site)
but with the new admin/mod team it would be great if you might consider adding new programmers to the site. not sure how we should have to apply; if our application could be coding a new feature and making a working demo of it that might be cool? but again it gets into the question of volunteering but also committing to a certain amount of time/progress...
tl;dr
-many of the requests users want to see (ui changes, LAYERING SYSTEM, some sort of 'sticky' activity that incentivises logging in, etc) are very easy to implement from a programming stand point
-i think a more retro site design would be beneficial
-advertise on tumblr and blueskies
