I see, so changing the rules mainly
i wouldn't change the rules, i'd just put a disclaimer when signing up about mature content
But if you posted mature content it would be against the rules (sex, drugs, graphic violence)
ah okay.
drugs and violence are against the rules? why are cigarettes, beer bottles, guns as accessories etc allowed?
i just think we should make everything allowed unless it is illegal

but one thing that you guys forget is that vp also has different servers, i know for a fact that there are more younger players on the dutch site, still not a lot, but still more than on the english one. .

but overal i do still agree ♥
Oh, I am aware of this as I'm Dutch myself. But it's indeed not a lot, and most of these younger players are used to the content we already see on VP haha.
true xDD

I hope miranda sees this man ♥

Basically, this. We already have these clothes. If it's already there in clothing, what's the harm of actually talking about it? Now, it'll depend on how high the target audience will become IF this actually happens, but if it's 14 then they can simply say "You can talk about it, just do not promote it" for the younger ones and fixed.

I still think its kinda weird tho? I was 10/11 when we had sex education in school for the first time. I live in the Netherlands so I know that most schools teach this in groep 7/8 (grade 5/6) and we were taught about the male and female body as well as safe sex. Do those same parents in the Netherlands have objections to those lesson being taught because nudity is included? I have a religion background and generally nudity is a no no however my parents had none they even encouraged me to go to those lesson while I felt all awkward and didnt want to go, and I didnt get the idea that any other parents had any objections either. Nudity, the human body, anatomy and whatever does not equal pornography, I think we need to teach those parents that instead of banning stupid nipples which both males and females have, its a fricking dot whats the deal?
I live in The Netherlands and we already had biology when I was around eleven years. The books would future how the female and male body would look like through the years and in puberty. When I got to another school we had other lessons and they would teach us how to take care of personal health and of course sex education. I personally think that most children actually don't care about the nipples on the skins, but parents would definitely think different about that. But then again, an great idea like this is raising the target audience so you could feature women having nipples or other things like alcohol and cigarettes.

I had it in groep 7 I believe, but I was grown up in a family where talking about these type of stuff was very common and normal haha. However, the sad truth is that a lot of family's (Especially Dutch ones) ARE very shy when it comes to nudity, sex or anything like that. It's taboe to talk about it and therefor making nudity way worse. I'm for 100% sure that if we kept nipples with the current audience, parents would start to cry. I even once heard a mother call nudity 'child porn', simply because of how unaware she was.

Yeah, I have been on here for a while and I didn't notice anyone under the age of sixteen. And even if they are under the age of sixteen, most of them are pretty cool and not making really a drama out of little things, something Miranda should take consider doing herself. Of course they must protect the website from lawsuits and things like that, but I simply don't see anything happening like that in the future.

I was also grown up in a family where talking about these things are pretty normal, I live in a pretty western family and I grew up in one of the biggest cities in the north of the Netherlands. My mother would never make any drama about certain things but I could understand that certain cultures are just really sensitive about female nudity in general.

Yeh same haha. And yeh, it just sucks that it has to be such a taboe, honestly. But then again, I also do not grasp the idea of men turning horny because of a bag of fat with pink flesh ontop. Evolution is odd.

I just wrote this on another thread, but I'll post this here as well.

In my head, nothing much will change. The current audience right now seems to be aimed around the 10/12 years old. These are not facts by the way, but by seeing the rules and how it first started, it seems like a solid claim. My idea is to raise it up to 16, which is an age where teenagers become more mature and start to think a bit more logical. This is also because 80% (again, claims, not facts) is around 16 or higher.

The layout does not have to change, because I think that it's fine. I would say that harsher language is fine, however, there's still a limit. Swearing with stuff that can trigger, think about diseases, should still be a no-go.  The sexual/alcohol/weed talk around 23:00 .. is something I'm not sure off. I would suggest making a new forum section, for the mature talk. Before you hop onto it, you'll get a disclaimer to warn off the younger kids. Do they proceed then it's at their own risk. This way, people can avoid it if they do not care about it and have the younger people warned. This also gives VP a safety blanket.

The team members who are below the 16 will keep their function and younger people can still join teams. It's a target audience, not a "You have to be 16+ to join".

I like the idea about the forum section but I suppose that there is already something like that, they have an record label with an mature section so people could talk about things like that there.

Hmmmm well that's up to Miranda and Kaj haha, I think that people might want a big forum section instead of a record label.

I support this.

Not because I'm scarred VP will get sued. But because I found out this website is most likely made for 10/12 year olds. I don't think websites with large forums and money options should be targeted at such a young group at all. Not meaning 10/12 year olds can't be here, just that this alone makes an older group more appropriate in my eyes.
