i think that if a player isn't 1. active within the first month of making the account, or 2. are active during that first month but then go inactive for a year, that their account should be some sort of deactivated.
obviously the users should be sent a warning email before the deactivation happens, and their accounts shouldn't be totally deleted. instead, their usernames should be changed (maybe to user(insert number here) or some random number hash?), so that way a dead account isn't hogging another user's potential username.
