It sounds like all pop music these days. Like Ariana Grande or something. Boring, bland, safe, and not catchy enough to really grab my attention. If I were younger I think I'd like it so I could have dorky solo dance parties in my room maybe.

If I want mindless pop I'll go back to my beloved TLC and Destiny's Child because it makes me want to sing. Nothing from K-pop I've listened to gives me the desire to belt it out or dance, which is the point of pop imo.

idk, i've got to disagree! then again i love pop music more than anything else, so maybe it just comes down to personal preference

what kpop have you listened to?

5 Finger Death Punch are the rednecks of nu-metal (and I liked some nu-metal when I was young [especially SOAD] so I can't even be mean to nu-metal fans haha.) Wrong Side of Heaven is the only good song they've done. Everything else they do espouses the same values as a Nickelback song, and if you take them seriously over the age of 16 you're probably the worst type of person ever.

Red Velvet mostly. Also, while it's j-pop, I knew a girl really into Perfume and I wasn't digging it.

I'm up for recs. I don't know, I just find what I've heard boring. Hard to explain. No stab at anyone who likes it; I think it's a matter of personal tastes.

I still feel like a lot of it has to do with my age. If I were a small child when it came out I'd probably of loved it. Yet I still admit I bop to Ace of Bass occasionally so idk.

meh. It's so boring and cliche. Don't like that song at all.  I can admire the advocacy they've done for veterans and all that, and Wrong Side of Heaven. Otherwise they're lame. My ex-boyfriend really liked 5FDP, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold and Three Days Grace. None of it is interesting and it all tries too hard to be edgy despite being bland and lame. 5FDP has the worst lyrics out of the whole lot of those bands too. ):

thanks; I will check it out. I'm skeptical the genre is for me but I will report back later. I do admire the visuals of the videos I will say.

So far the first one is actually kinda fun.

you're only really exposed to the super super super popular shit which of course has a "pop" sound that isn't really as influenced by other genres and in it's own bubble

people box it in too easily for reasons I don't really understand
it's like saying all english music is one thing

personally rn I like artists like heize, cheetah, tenny that are r&b/hiphop/soul
there's too many to rec of all different sounds it depends entirely on your taste,, mine's pretty diverse so idk

If you like rock then jpop could definitely be more your thing; ambivalent got really popular recently I'm interested in their concept tbh

her whole 21 album is so fucking good; cheetah is amazing as an artist/rapper n is always very experimental
I first found her on a show called unpretty rapstar where she showed her skill as a rapper and pretty much dominated but her singing voice is also really good; she was in a coma for a while and it hurt her voice tho

the live of this is so good suran eats her cds
