but ya idk even that like ? lana del rey is incredibly well-read and the intertextual literary references and concepts in her music are so abundant ! like if u listen to lana del rey and ur focus is on like "oh no she sings about having sex and doing drugs what a Bad Woman" or whatever then im sorry but perhaps read a book and try again ! idk she's just rly smart and doing rly interesting things w like. the cultural concept of american womanhood & idk

yh that's a good point actually. and no diss to lorde (obv 17 is v young, idk how she feels now), but it's weird to me that people are like 'oh, lyrics have to be feminist and empowering'. like even the most feministy feminist (lol) has done non feminist things and had non feminist thoughts and feelings... why can't she express that? it's so stupid
