i don't really see how because languages can't really jump from one category to another regardless of how much contact there is, but the østnorske dialects are generally more similar to the eastern scandinavian languages and dialects than what is the case for vestnorske dialects, you have like dialect continuums in those areas which are interesting like the apocope one which even reach the swedish spoken on the westcoast of finland 
hmm i suppose the root matter the most yes, austnorske dialects are just so much more audibly similar to swedish than to like stavangersk or smn, and some of the sørnorske dialects is just potatoless danish how are these even considered three different languages

a bit like serbian/croatian/bosnian/montenegrin then? different standards on a dialect continuum

(other than ESC and the odd italian, spanish or portuguese summer songs, I don't even think I come in contact with foreign languages a lot??? though to be fair, I'm fluent in English, German and French, so I do have quite a broad spectrum of music not sung in my language that I enjoy and listen to on the radio)
