i think a movie is too limited to be able to fit her whole story in there, and i don't think there was enough focus on how she was done dirty and how people basically closed their eyes to her hurt

No, not really.. I mean, it's good if you'd like to know more about her history, I guess, but it lacks depth and detail so you end up not really knowing her anyway

If you'd like to know more about her, there is a documentary about her life on videoland, called 'Amy'. (for Dutch people) I've watched that before and it moved me, so I was excited about this movie, but the documentary is actually better, tbh.
