Taylor has been one of my idols ever since I was little. I think a lot of people misjudge. Her songs aren't always about boys; "Ronan" was about a little boy who dies of cancer. She heard about Ronan from reading his mother's, Maya Thompson, blog. See, Taylor could've easily walked away and not have done anything about it but she wanted to meet up with Maya and write a song in honour of Ronan. Taylor even broke down when she sung it once. Also, "22" isn't about her relationships: it's just about her and her mates feeling 22 and wanting to live a little and have fun and not worrying about their jobs or relationships. "Starlight" was written after Taylor saw a picture of Bob and Ethel Kennedy when they were 17. She said: "they looked like they were having the best time." And out came the song. She preformed it for Ethel, who loved it. And some of her songs about her relationships are different. Like "I Knew You Were Trouble" was written about Harry Styles, but she blamed herself because she had a feeling at the beginning that it wouldn't have gone down so well, and yet she still went out with him, though Harry stated she was a lovely girl after the break up. "The Last Time" was just based off an idea she had for a while in her head, not from one of her relationships, and she preformed it with Gary Lightbody, the frontman from her favourite band. As Milla said, everyone assumes she's the one who asks them out and she's the one who breaks up with them. They only assume all this because I guess of all her previous songs and they interpret them the wrong way. Like you, I like how she doesn't write about drugs and sex and alcohol and how she writes songs but she's a bit mature with it. Like she states her opinions. And some of them I find are just written beautifully, like "Enchanted" and some cleverly, like "Red." I think people take all these songs that she writes about her ex's as a bad thing but I think it's natural. I said before once that when you love someone, like to Pluto and back, you want to share it with everyone and it's only natural to say to someone like your friend how much you love the person your in love with. Like you might just say: "I love him/her." And it's natural to share pictures with people of you and your lover, it's only natural to take those pics in the first place. It's also natural to rant on about how much you hate someone, or hate what you had together. I think it's the same with Taylor's songs: she had a relationship, she wrote a song based off of it, and she shared it to the world. Also, her audience is teengae girls and they want something to relate to. I admit, I would like to hear a few country songs from Taylor again because that would be awesome, but I love all of her songs. My favourites are probably "Love Story", "Safe and Sound", "Starlight", "Red", "Enchanted", "22", "Mine" and "The Lucky Ones" [on the top of my head].
I think her voice is beautiful: it sounds mature and she just sounds awesome when she sings her songs. It just sounds perfect. And I don't care how many boys she's dated, I will love her no matter what. She's just exploring, you know? If she settled down now and got married, then there would be some complications. Like what happens if they got divorced?
BUT YES I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT <3
