I jumped up out of my bed; startled.
"Not again", I thought to myself squinting my eyes to check my alarm clock.
3.01am the alarm clock read; great timing as usual.
My grandmother in traditional fashion had woken up screaming like a banshee yet again. I told myself it was night terrors but this is a regular occurrence, perhaps she wants to spend more time with me...
Nevertheless, I entered her room and lead her downstairs to the kitchen.
"Time for another midnight tea", I joked leading her down the creaky wooden stairs.
We laughed, joked, told stories, discussed my problems and sipped on our green tea. A part of me rather enjoyed this, even with the interrupted sleep. However, all fun must come to an end. It was of course time for her to go and finish her sleep. Nights like this... nights to remember.
And they say life ends after death? That's right... my grandmother is dead. I pour her cup of green tea, still full, down the sink.
I head back to bed. I think we'll have black tea tomorrow.
