In every region of Poland, folklore outfit looks way different. I've chosen outfit that represent center regions of Poland - in Polish "strój łowicki".

Fun fact (told by my grandma): In the past, women got married in traditional folk costumes

every region has their own local costume or 'bunad', and they're typically worn for big celebrations, such as constitution day, weddings, baptisms, graduations etc
its very costly to get a new one made, so they'll often be handed down for generations

ive tried to recreate a bunad from an island on the west coast of norway, in a wedding situation.
its still relatively common to get married in a bunad, and many brides wear bridal crowns. they're super over the top and adorned and i think they're the coolest thing ever

fun fact! the womens costume for this region has a black hat, worn to cover your hair. it's rarely used nowadays, but it was once custom for women to wear them their whole life, 'from the crib to the grave' allegedly even at night.
only on their wedding day would they let their hair loose, like this

as a german this is very hard because we don't really have much traditional clothing or stuff in our culture. there is only one thing and that's the traditional clothing for oktoberfest, which is calles dirndl for women and lederhosen for men. i created this male outfit in Kofod's wardrobe- thank you for letting me use it!

even though germany is kind of known for that kind of clothing, only the southern part of germany actually wears these. other parts of germany may also wear these for going to oktoberfest but more like a costume and not because it's their traditional clothing. that's also the reason why you can get really cheap rip-off versions of dirndl on amazon and stuff, even though the real thing is very expensive and made in high quality.

BUT we have great snacks (i won't say we have great food because most of the "real traditional german food" i don't like ahahahaha)
we are well known for our gingerbread, which is actually tasty. We have 2 cities battling over the title of the best gingerbread: aachen with gingerbread called printen and nuremberg with nürnberger lebkuchen. (i'm all for printen but nuremberg is the bigger city so they kind of have the upper hand in this)
well yeah i wanted to include som beer but kofod unluckily has no beer in his wardrobe x'D so the gingerbread has to do. normally it's a christmas thing here BUUUT i heard this was actually a thing for conserving food and not a christmas thing in the beginning. a small research didn't get any results in that direction though.

This is called a red turkish Caftan and it basically a transitional gown we were and both guys and girls can wear this but the ones guys wear are like plain/simple and the girls normally wear embroidery worked and like extravagant ones.

I'm from America and I don't really have a fancy cultural heritage like that so... My outfit is styled around the aspect of incorporating lots of influences and doing your own style. Would have included a stuffie too but that'd be weird and i ran out of hands (and i didn't have one that matched well...)
