ET: Design Competition

we're making a comeback!

Sorry for the delay, but we're working on bringing back the monthly design competitions!

As usual, to receive the prize set, you have to create a design following the theme.
Your design must include each of the following:

-A hair
-A skin
-A top or dress
-Pants or skirt [If designing a dress, you don't have to include bottoms]
-Shoes

The theme for this month is: Winter

You have until Saturday, March 16th at 10pm EST time to get your entries in

**Remember; as long as you enter and show effort in your design you will receive the set.
No copying other designers items and no copying images from google. You WILL be disqualified if we find out you have cheated

**You are allowed to enter twice if you would like either both sets, or to give a set to a friend. Just verify what you would like to do when you post your entry.

**You have to create each item in your entry. No teaming up

Post the full set as well as the separate pieces in your post.

If you post a set here, it will be used for either event team use or sent off to jess to be used for the site as long as it is of good quality

Thank you to September for the lovely sets!

Definitely gonna practice on designing sets for VP sometime when I have time, but for now I will just sit back and look at all the amazing and creative stuff others make!

Love the two sets btw!

oh, i've been meaning to ask so this is a good time: if you make an objecthead design, does the separate head item count as hair and the (maybe headless) body count as the skin?

yeah you won’t need to make a hair and the skin can be headless

i always recommend paint.net as it's free for download and basically the only thing missing is an airbrush tool, but you can use layers of different opacity to mess around with it.

there's also sumopaint, also free, and you can either download it or use it online.

paint tool sai is good as it has both pixel tools and airbrushes, and then ofc there's photoshop.

as long as you've got something to make a background transparent, you could probably make it in mspaint, though i imagine that would take a bit longer!

well there's the binary tool which allows for clean pixels, and there's a way to use the line tools with it as well, though i forget how. i think maybe you can turn antialiasing off or even select just an option called binary. there is a way. 🤔

Half the words in here sound like a foreign language to me and I am also technologically challenged....it's a miracle I can even turn my computer on. But for my own fun I might try some of those programs suggested here and see what kind of horrible stuff I can manage and maybe with some practice I can learn and one day find the nerve to show someone something I created....it'll probably be something like 2 little ovals and two little lines in a pretty color and I'll call it a bow.
