Just googled that and it does have a similar element! I watched a show in recent years that illustrated that short story in a modern way, i believe it was called the fall of the house of usher (or asher?)

She comes each night in silken red,
a ghost of sorrow, quiet tread.
By moonlight's breath she takes her place,
with bleeding tears open her face.

No words escapes her shadowed lips,
just silence cold as fingertips.
She weeps beneath the weight of dread
each drop of crimson softly shed.

She lingers long, then fades away,
yet always comes, night after day.
until one eve, her crying ceased.
And in her place,
the dead were released.
