How I Met Your Mother is a TV show that ran for a total of 9 seasons, spanning from 2005 up until 2014 where it ended having made 208 episodes. For those of you that don't know what the show is about, that's literally it. It's the extremely, very largely long-winded story of Ted Moseby telling his teenage children how he met their mother. The story is mostly told through flashbacks of the life of Ted and his four friends: Marshall, Lily, Barney and Robin, as they go through many failed relationships, interventions and ins and outs of life, through deep and meaningful statements such as;
"Because sometimes, even if you know how something's going to end, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride."
"The future is scary, but you can't just run back to the past because it's familiar. Yes it's tempting, but it's a mistake."
"But love doesn't make sense! You can't logic your way into or out of it. Love is totally nonsensical. But we have to keep doing it or else we're lost and love is dead, and humanity should just pack it in. Because love is the best thing we do."
However, it also brought us great recurring gags such as Robin Sparkles, Canada, Bang Bang Bangity Bang, Barney's Job, The Doppelgangers, Haaaave you met Ted?! and my personal favourite, SLAP BET!
