im gonna gift my father a book for xmas... he wants a fiction book, he likes crime well enough but isn't a hater of other books, he is 58 so not really in the demographic for YA. likes west african music n brazillian music. studied religion science and enjoys islam.

any recs???

I started reading umberto eco's the prague cemetary last week and it's good so far, but also a lot to take in.

There are a lot of religious themes but also conspiracy and very explicit descriptions of hate and prejudice.

It's a historic novel but so much more than this.

Lucias Siste Reise (trans. Lucias Last Journey) looks rly good. That's been the book I recommend and sell the most lately

Shantaram and Where the Crawdads Sing also sounds like something he might enjoy idk?? I've heard v good things about both
