in order of appearance: courgette/zucchini, american pickle (black seed, the one that most frequently pops up when looking for american cucumbers), pickle
idk, but to me the american cucumber looks more like a pickle than a zucchini

which may be because a pickle is a subform of cucumber and a zucchini is a different plant altogether, but what do I know, I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to gardening in general, so I might be missing something

same in most places in Europe, but you were talking about American cucumbers and so was I
so I don't know why you bring this up

yes, those cucumbers most popular in Europe look more like a zucchini because they are both mostly smooth, have a similar size/length/proportion and are close in colour (but not pattern)
but this isn't what the discussion is about

my parents grow pickles each year and you have to harvest them while they are small or they will grow a lot bigger.

so the american cucumber is probably just fully-grown pickles.

probably
though I guess like with everything in the world, there are plants who are more prone to growing bigger fruits since there's about a million different variations of everything in the world
like with the giant pumpkins, those are plants that grow from mutated pumpkins and produce bigger pumpkins. if you harvest those giant pumpkins when they are the size of an average normal store-brand pumpkin, it won't be fully ripe yet
