i made this on gsm too rip pls don't hate me for neglecting you these last weeks <3

1. Have Eir Scandinavia shut down?? Their page doesn't work. This is bad. They have been my main skincare brand for the last year. I only buy once a year, and I just ran out but THEY DON'T EXIST ANYMORE??

2. Someone help me find replacements for a gentle cleanser and idk what else you could need to clear up your skin??

- minimal ingredients
- a lot of dry skin that needs removing
- blemishes and acne
- sensitive skin that doesn't like harsh ingredients (the micellar cleansing water thing burns, if that's a reference)
- I like nordic brands (local production) and sustainable if applicable
- vegan and cruelty-free

I've been considering trying some of the ordinary ones that are like idk an acid of some sort, i can't remember which one right now, I'm really really bad at skincare knowledge.

I use the ordinary salicylic acid and glycolic acid for exfoliating, but I would not reccomend the glycolic acid if u have sensitive skin cus it can sting a lot if ur not used to strong acids

Also don't overexploitate, a lot of brands and products say u can use their product every day/twice a day, but really you shouldn't need to use them that often, at least the stronger ones, and u can rlly destroy ur skin that way lol. If u get a chemical exfoliant, start with max 2 times a week, and go up (depends on the strenght, I only use the glycolic acid 2-4 times a month)

2. Someone help me find replacements for a gentle cleanser and idk what else you could need to clear up your skin?? cetaphil gentle cleanser

lipikar baume ap+
is a great moisturizer for dry skin, i have extremely sensitive eczema prone skin and it helps, it is thick but sinks in properly if u apply it on moist skin
aveeno is also a good gentle brand
if u have blemishes and acne prone skin i would recommend you get differin prescribed by a doctor or dermatologist because you will spend way more money chasing products that are non-medical

and u lost me at vegan and cruelty free
i dont know of any specific brands that market themselves as that and if they do they are out of my budget so i wouldnt know of them

also what country do u reside in

Oh also exfoliating properly and using niacinamide has helped me a lot with acne stuff, I got so many pimples suddenly, but now I get practically zero after I started using it. But also niacinamide for a lot of people will make them break out more at first, that should stop after 1-2 months max. Also doesn't work for everyone tho, but yeah just depends a lot. The one from the ordinary can sting a bit if u have open wounds, to me at least, and it also has zinc so I wouldn't use that one if you have dry skin, but I am an oil machine

Im just looking online whats available, but the inkey list niacinamide serum doesn't have zinc, and instead has hyuolaronic (I butchered that) in it so helps with dry skin if u apply on damp skin. I haven't tried it tho, and idk if its vegan or cruelty free, but its not too expensive

Thinking about getting the (can't spell) acid from the ordinary and a cleanser.

What's the difference between cleanser and exfoliator?

Cleanser just cleans, but exfoliator acids off the dead skin (idk) . But also not all acids are exfoliating, like hyuolaronic acid is not exfoliating but it is an acid (not stingy tho)

Me giving stupid explanation lol. I like the double cleanse podcast (u can find it on spotify etc) but its not THAT skincare heavy but a little bit. For skincare advice I watch one of the ppl who r in the podcast, james welsh, on youtube.

if you have reptile skin (shedding, a lot of dry skin that keeps being on) you need to exfoliate. Don't overexfoliate though, because that will make it worse, especially if you have dry skin in general.

Cleanser is just to get rid of your creams, sweat and make-up from the day / night, though a few cleansers do have a slight exfoliant ingredient in them. But those usually aren't strong enough to actually exfoliate well if you have dehydrated skin.

Hydration is key.

I use mostly DayTox, but since it's a german brand, I don't know if they are available in Norway. They are pretty affordable though and I can only recomment their exfoliating powder, because acids can be a bit harsh, especially on sensitive and light skin.

yes
either exfoliant or peeling

I'd recommend you go looking for an enzyme exfoliant/peeling or a very low grade acid (but again, those are more precarious with sun influence afterwards, like you have to be vigilant with sunscreen and even more so if you're somewhere with either a lot of sun of if it snowed and it's bright in general).

If you have sensitive skin (skin that turns red easily) or have a lot of spots/acne, I'd say stay away from physical exfoliants (so those with bits and pieces in it like sugar or nut pieces) because they can make you even more red or even rub open spots and then you risk scarring more easily.

I do not burn easily, but I do have my acne on the lower part of my face.

I was thinking about trying this one since it's supposed to be good for dry skin

don't be afraid of them!
use low percentages and start with just once a week for a whole month and then slowly working yourself up to 2-3 times a week. (I exfoliate weekly, because I feel like that's the best for my skin, but I know others who exfoliate every 3 days and their skin works great like that)
just be careful in always wearing sunscreen (even if you don't burn! some of those chemical peels can make you more prone to discoloration and dark spots in the sun or even change the colour of your skin - I have a vitamin A serum that could literally turn me orange if I were to apply it in the morning and then go out in the sun)
So always use them in the evening and put on sunscreen the day after for sure!

a gentle cleanser i use is the cerave hydrating cleanser, it's not cruelty-free tho...

a nordic brand i absolutely adore is l300, it's affordable and works wonders!!

as for acne, maybe try something that contains bha? or something with retinoids? i recently bought the ordinary granactive retinoid 2% emulsion, which i've heard a lot of good reviews on
