To me it depends on the pose and what kind of trinket it is.

This is awful to do.

It is imo, mostly because theres no honor in that for the animal,
Imo a taxidermy should honor the animal or owner,
life and death SHOULD be sacred even if non religious

So long as it's not for and from trophy hunting I think it can be an amazing way to have the memory of your loved pets

Egyptians saw it as a sacred thing and I agree with em

I feel the same way when i see people make special walk items for their
FULLY paralyzed pets to take them out for walks. Let the poor animal die, imagine wanting run, play, and do other things but you cant. If they can use the front or back legs they still have a good life. But if the pet cant move at all, its animal abuse.

Nuanced I guess? I would never do it for my pet because she's a family member, and it would feel like putting grandma's corpse in the living room.
I guess it makes sense for museums and educational materials? But if you're just a  random person who puts a dead animal up for decoration I would feel kinda uncomfortable in your home ngl. I wouldn't necessarily judge you (assuming you didn't kill the animal or had it killed for the purpose of displaying it) but I wouldn't want to visit you at your house often.
