MACH-IV
60 of 100
Machiavellianism is the term some social and personality psychologists use to describe a person's tendency to deceive and manipulate others for personal gain.

People scoring below 60 out of 100 on the MACH-IV are considered low Machs; they tend to believe, "There is no excuse for lying to someone else,"

yea seems right

These are the results of the MACH-IV.

Your score was 47 of 100, with higher scores indicating more machiavellianism.

A graph of how other people score on this test is below.

uhhh okay so what does it mean

you're neutral
and the graph just shows a distribution of the people who have taken the test
I feel like the strong line is the ideal curve of tests like these and then the dotted line might be actual results? (because how else would you explain the spikes?) but it's kinda shitty on a scientific basis because you don't get any explanation on what it truly shows
ah well being neutral sounds fine

well, I sincerely doubt you'd get many people in the extremes
first of all, because that's how it works, these things usually are balanced the way the majority of the people lies in the middle
second of all, people still think people on the top of the point range are selfish and evil and people on the lower end are weak and pushovers
these common misconceptions won't help in getting people to be real if they fall into one of these two categories

yea, which is honestly annoying because the ideas of Machiavelli are in no way evil in themselves :/ and I got like %40 which surprised me cause I thought I would get higher so maybe I lied to even myself while solving it? it's honestly weird.

I think they are really true - most of the time
but I feel like the are a bit extreme and have kind of a dark premise
I know I have a higher score than normal, because even though I don't feel like most things should be the way they are, I know that's how the world works
and thus many of the machiavellian theses sound a bit self-fulfilling to me

I think it comes down to how you view the world and the human nature. Machivelli does emphasize a lot that he is not writing about how things should be but how things are when it comes to the reality of the world but This "how things are" is nothing more than his own views of the world. I tend to think of the world as not such a lost cause because if I were to I would legit loose all hope

exactly!
I do think the situation is kinda bad (like, a 6/10) and it could be much better, if people would collectively try to work together instead of being overrun by that fear that people will take advantage of them
because let#s be real, this is what drives most people
and granted, many people of power (be it money, political or however you view it) got into their position by somewhere along their way exploiting the system or people
so the fear definitely is logical

i guess it's because based on your humour and behaviour i'd expect you to be more michavellian (yes, spelled incorrectly indeed) but then if i were to look past that i could definitely see you scoring low on such test because you do come across as someone who is vocal about honesty or

i don't have proper vocabulary to continue sry <3
