Drawing Question

Medibang and Krita are good and free. If you don't mind paying money, Paint Tool Sai is the most user friendly and easy to learn.

Wacom is the brand most people use for digital art but they are expensive. I've heard good things about Huion but can't vouch for them. Either way you should consider getting a wireless adapter for your tablet if you end up getting one. I have one and it's really prolonged the life of my tablet and it's saved me a lot of money on buying USB cables ever 3 months lol.

Oh and as far as drawing programs i use Paint tool sai which costs money but is easy to use. There is firealpaca similar to Sai, but it's free. I've recently been recommended paintstorm which i am highly considering buying because Paint tool sai no longer meets my needs as an artist. I dont recommend Gimp, stay away from gimp, idc it's free it's soso bad

Thanks for all the info. Definitely leaning on a wacom.
Heard of firealpaca and remember using it a bit, normally when I do digital stuff I use krita.
Paintstrom sounds interesting, yet I ain't willing to buy an art program yet lol.

I normally use krita for digital stuff, so I definitely agree.
Wacom doesn't seem all bad within price range when you compare it to the ipad.
Never heard of huion, but I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for informing me about it.

No problem, i hope it wasnt too much information, lmao! But yeah, free programs is probably the way to go when you first start out. Get familiar with how the programs work and then value if you want to have something else. Some programs also have free trial periods, but 1st things 1st.

No, it's all good! I want to get as much information as I can, so I appreciate the input very much.
Couldn't agree with you more about the free programs. I'm on a budget lol.

it depends on what device you plan on drawing on.
i have a wacom intuos medium that i use for drawing on my pc, and some programs i use for that are paint tool sai and photoshop :) they cost quite a bit of money, but you should be able to get your hands on a cracked version easy enough

if you have an ipad, i definitely recommend procreate and getting an apple pencil, it is so worth it

some free programs are firealpaca, medibang and krita if you dont have access to any of the cracked programs

I generally like doing realism and fantasy stuff. Though, I also like doing fanart of my favorite characters (usually anime). How about you?

Cool! I don't do digital stuff often myself since I think my digital stuff sucks. Yet I want too improve badly.
Drawing traditional is much easier since you have more control.
Cartoons huh? What cartoon characters do you usually draw?

hmm, yeah definitely, i just find it MUCH easier to shade and color on digital, because you can undo stuff and have layers and stuff and effects
well i draw some characters from the moomins (ive only really been drawing it recently though) and some others from different cartoon shows

Exactly! Right now though, I'm doing something digital on my laptop. Just started drawing Itachi from Naruto. I gotta start pushing myself with digital painting. The moomins? That's the Swedish cartoon right? I see a lot of people talking about it often on the internet. Which makes me curious, is it any good? It definitely seems like a really cute cartoon though.
