so things do take time

You did what you could out of the resources you had, the knowledge you had, the feelings you had, in those specific moments you faced

It's really easy to be etterpåklok (don't know English term) and best thing to do from now is to leave in in the past and work on the future

I know that's easier said than done ofc and you've probably heard it all before too

no i still appreciate hearing/reading it though. i have to be reminded of things like this constantly lol, it's kinda the complete opposite of my ''natural'' mindset. i can definitely apply it to situations where i have been more passive but pretty much everything i did when i had alcohol issues is just.. god no lol.
