I am about to go into my third year for my degree in Creative Writing (+ film studies) so I write for leisure and work. I specialise largely in fiction with a lot of urban fantasy inspiration but I don't really stick to specific genres. I also have some works on AO3, mainly to help me get feedback on how my writing is improving. I also used to write for NT on VP.

I find grammar rather easy though I'm a native speaker. When I leave uni, I'm hoping to get some work in proofreading :3

I honestly can't remember the longest thing I've ever written xD

I have a few pieces I'm proud of. I have a screenplay I wrote around 3 years ago that I got an award for but I'm most proud of the work I've written this year. My writing keeps growing and I love being able to see the growth!

I've largely been inspired to write for people like myself who find comfort and friends in books and media. It's all kept me company during difficult times in my life and I want to be able to do the same for others. I also like to live in ideal worlds. People wise, my boyfriend is who inspires me most as he's so encouraging and reads anything I write from a birthday card to my fanfiction to my uni essays xD!

I prefer to write in notebooks but I've developed a condition in my wrists which means I can't write for long periods of time anymore. I mostly use my laptop/tablet/phone (with google docs so I can work wherever) and then my notes end up in about 60 different notebooks and note apps in my phone xD

A fanfic about a guy getting pregnant against his will *laugh*
If i write in my mother language i could rewrite the whole chapter in a few hours. But it takes more time in English because i can´t dance with the words like i do i my mother language. I know what i want to write but it looks wrong.

I was actually considering creative writing in college but I only like to write sometimes, like 2 months every year lmao, so I settled for a safer major : D but I’m still really curious about the classes one would take, what kinds of assignments/exercises do you do in uni?

and aw that’s sweet, I’m glad you have someone to support your writing ✨

I also have a million notebooks and pens haha more than I’ll ever be able to use up

I don´t wish that to anyone, life has been rough but you are smiling and waving. And i also think that you should write things that feels "natural" i can write cute and romantic things but it feels wrong.
One thing you can do is to write something short about a song that you like if it feels hard to start.

I kinda do that... I listen to a lot of Lana Del Rey while I write so u can imagine what my writing is like haha
do you listen to heavy metal orrr
i feel like everyone has to suffer at some point, and I have this fear that life is going to start sucking real bad soon bc it’s been so good... am I going die of heart disease very young? Get horribly maimed? Lose a family member?

oooh fun!

1. What do you like to write?
In terms of genre I like writing horror or romance (or both uwu). In terms of form, tbh I mostly write for role-plays, which aint the most impressive form of writing imo but it's fun!

2. Is grammar easy or annoying?
Easy 'til it's not haha lol

3. What’s the longest thing you’ve ever written?
My friend and i did an RP that got well above a million words so i guess i wrote about 500k of those. But the longest i've written myself is probably just a couple of thousand so lol

4. Do you have a piece of writing you’re particularly proud of?
I did some drabbles for a creative writing class i quite like, i think i posted one or two of them on here

5. What/who inspires you to write?
Mostly other TV shows and movies and also like brainstorming about characters with friends and writing partners. And sometimes just like pictures and junk i find online??

6. What do you like to write with? Phone, laptop, typewriter, pen/paper?
phone + laptop (except my laptop broke so rip)

Am i the only one who tends to prefer straight forward pronoun use?? Like in regards to the how to avoid I article. In terms of reading too? Like some of the examples?

“I smelled the fragrance of the clover underneath my feet
vs
“my nostrils were flooded by the sweet fragrance of clover underneath my feet.”

I get that the flooded and whatnot paints another image but i'd rather just read i smelled i think?
But idk i don't read or write a lot in first person so it might just be because I'm tired of people trying to avoid 3rd person pronouns by writing shit like 'the blonde' lol

That's why I doubled it up with Film xP I was scared of looking like I just picked it as an "easy course" (which irritatingly, so many do).
We usually have assignments that have specific criteria like "a 2,000 word piece focused on place" etc. We've also had assignments that work with mixed media such as films or 'hypertext narrative' (making a website that's like a game or something). Other times it's poetry/ a focus on character etc.
I feel like I'm very bad at explaining this xD

Saame! So many empty but pretty notebooks I'm afraid of ruining xD

Yeahhh I think in writing it’s preferable to avoid I feel/I smell/I hear and just directly describe what the character is experiencing
wait u said u don’t like it umm
I don’t like the word nostril so I get what u mean xD but when i is used too much the writing becomes kind of choppy for me
