But yeah, I've eaten food that's been out for longer than 16 hours, as long as it smells okay, I'll eat it, I've done it for like a lot of dinner leftovers and it has never made me sick as far as I know.
Also, I mean if it smells nice, but tastes weird, I'll throw it away right away, and throw away the rest of the leftovers if there are any left.
