does Norwegian use glottal stops?
potentially
ur making phonetics sound vaguely omnious
to elaborate, the issue is that i have a name with a consonant combination which in reality doesn't occur in Norwegian and as i am aware of that there's a possibility i attempt to insert something, but because it isn't normal for two identical consonants to occur after each other, it's possible i insert a glottal stop to try to accommodate if that makes sense

studying
filling my time pronouncing the first syllable of my name trying to figure out if there is a glottal stop there or not
msorry I didn't know from memory what a glottal stop is and I'm too high to understand google's definition no matter how many times I read it but good luck in ur endeavour !!!
if you pronounce uh-oh in English you'll likely produce a kind of break or whatever in the transition from uh to oh and that sound is a glottal stop

They have a tendency trying to sound fancy but it's always smarter to introduce new things to people explaining it with something they're likely familiar with already

oh alright that's a lot less ominous.  I suppose that makes sense. Maybe it differs depending on how u articulate it, if it's possible to articulate it more clearly i suppose. Then you'd just have like an optional glottal stop lmao

do a study where u have a random selection of people pronounce your name and see how many people use it

i'm happy for u!
try not to worry too much about making mistakes, they don't expect u to be perfect. everyone makes mistakes sometimes, even the people who have worked there for a long time

well basically now we’re going through places i could think of being at while having my disability that make me only function at 25%, in other words i get paid to have these consultations and help, but what I’m getting paid for is basically for me having autism and not being able to function at 100%. meaning I’ll never be able to work like a normal person. my goal is to have a steady activity that i can go to, if that would be called job or not I’m not sure

thank u!! I just like ahh have a shitty history w my dad where whenever I did anything wrong he'd give me the silent treatment for like 2 days lol so situations where that happens trigger me so bad hence the long long avoidance but whatev fake it til u make it

That would be a bit elaborate for a task that's like "transcribe your first and last name" lmao  I guess, if the glottal stop can be written as superscript it's probably more accurate, as some kind of secondary feature added to the preceding vowel in preparation of the upcoming velar plosive? Does that make any sense
