Paprika is more uplifting lol. Perfect blue is probably his darkest work but everything he’s done is real trippy. Millennium Actress is a good one for film buffs.

yeah i can't get used to the computer stuff either, idk but i don't like the way too flashy style that a lot of modern anime have. i do like my hero academia and attack on titan, which use 3d components i believe, which i think looks okay so im not against it totally.

It’s all done on computers now nothing has been hand painted since like 2005ish don’t quote me on that but around then. 
Like I love anime period end of sentence but that hand painted shit hits different.

clannad was for me the worst anime to get started on haha. bc it was the first anime i watched and i only watched it bc someone forced me to. if i didn't watch steinsgate or fullmetal alchemist at the same time, which i did enjoy, it would have turned me off from anime completely. clannad's art style, and its character style, is exactly the style i do not like hahaha

i don't mind the computers, just the 3d stuff can look jarring sometimes. it's like impossible to go back to cell animation now, way too much work and too expensive

yeah def, it had character in a sense. cause you know it was done by hand, and not through a computer that makes everything completely perfect.
