Annually 1\3 of global food production is lost or wasted. This makes up about 1.3 billion tons [1].

fuck capitalism
honestly if we as normal people also contribute to the waste, we surely can not criticize
i mean tbf im sure capitalism affects the average household's tendency to over consume

thank you for sharing this one in particular, shows that we as individuals actually can and should do something about it
Yes. I think so too and I think that's an important statistic to bring forth for that exact reason. I mean we can impact at least some of the global emissions by simply not wasting food.

i mean, you are not getting told to eat at a restaurant for example and there's many ways to reduce your personal waste so i don't think there's an excuse not to do it
obviously capitalism affects everyone, but if we as normal people can put our little help, it can get a bit better

The ‘use by’ date is the throw-away date.
The ‘best before’ date only serves as a guarantee of quality.

in the U.K. ~40% of all bread bought is wasted at home.

Okay, that's very scary and bad, but I have to be a bit of that person and say that GHG stands for greenhouse gasses so saying GHG gas is redundant.

This is something I'm very annoyed by, here's a video to watch about the myth if you're so inclined.

How to store fruit \ veggs longer
* potatoes should be stored dry and dark, ideally in a cloth bag
* bananas should be stored nice and cool, e.g. cupboard or worksurface. freeze them if they start going brown and you know you won't eat it soon.
* apples should be stored in the fridge (new 2 me)
* don't store apples, bananas, and tomatoes together. they will ripen everything faster.

how to store bread
* cool and dry but not in your fridge. remove crumbs and don't slice it as both promote mold

leave your own tips too! these are the ones the course have mentioned thus far.
