I used to read books under my blanket with a small flashlight, and sometimes would gasp at like juicy things and forgot that I was supposed to be asleep😔

this reminds me of one time i was hanging out with an old friend way back when i was like 15 and he was probably 13 @diarrhea

and like it was the middle of the night and we were at my parents' house, he was minding his own business and i was reading eleanor & park for the first time. by the time i finished the book i was just sobbing uncontrollably and i remember him walking up to me with this most horrified look on his face because he though i'd been hurt or something because i was just loudly crying lmao
and i couldn't stop crying for the longest time and he practically walked me outside to smoke a cigarette and calm down and idk if it was funny at all back then but now the thought of me trying to explain the plot of some ya novel while gasping for air just seems hilarious.

I never got the chance to finish books at dark, but I would definitely cry a lot when I ended a book it’s like a bittersweet moment

i could actually hear them both waking up and tossing in the bed for a moment and it was super embarrassing. my sleep schedule is messed up but i've just been sleeping while they're at work so we can still hang out in the evening... this is me trying to reassure myself that it's okay to have a funky sleeping pattern even when i'm being a guest here lol

yeah i often feel like i'm saying goodbye to someone important when i get to the end of a book (which is why i mostly re-read the same old books all over again because then i know i can get back to them at any time) and i don't really remember what happened in the end of that particular book but i remember being like..........momentarily destroyed by it. i just bought the book so i could read it again, i'm intrigued with what my reaction to the story will be with like 7 years apart
