hmm, there are many causes like the sensitivity of different areas, if piercing on the navel, it could be infected easier due to tugging from clothes or sleeping posture, improper care after piercing, many other reasons

yeah like helix piercings get infected more than septums it makes no sense

maybe its to do with the fat that helix piercing is on cartilage and cartilage has very little blood supply?. so more it's difficult for infections to be cleared because there is less immune cells coming into that are. it also means that cartilage areas don't heal as well because blood contains the materials that allow wounds to heal
