I've tried to speak up for myself a bit as well, but it still feels very unnatural for me. But that just motivates me to continue, because feeling uncomfortable about speaking up for what is right just proves to me even more how important it is to do it

this stuff makes me feel so grateful to my parents for the way they raised me. My mom is a very assertive, outspoken and dominant woman so i was taught to be loud, opinionated and to never buy into the “nice timid submissive girl” role that would be pushed onto me by school and other adults. It worked. Sure it got me in trouble a lot as a kid but my parents thought it was worth it
