Damn I cant find anything abt this on the internet but bc of mistranslation and stuff too
But also
Mmm
I think it was a theory
Bc dragons r also like a mix of snakes, eagles and uh . Big cats
The western one at least
But bees , bc like , the honey is the pot of gold they protected, bc honey was valuable in ancient times
And a swarm of bees can like make the shape of a big creature
definitely a theory
also gold was like the most important thing back then its probably not a symbol for anything else
also how do u explain how its represented as a snake in lots of different cultures, in christianity the snake is a symbol for satan and stuff, in norse mythology u have midgardsormen, other mythology also have snake creatures and i think its likely the dragon came from various depictions of snake-like creatures
people just hate snakes i guess and portray them as evil, and the more "modern dragon" like creatures were just a mix of a bunch of animals because they were supposed to represent unbalance and bad stuff, they still have the reptilian features cause snakes are bad
