it was studied, and they thought they were on their way to proving it, but they weren't able to replicate the results so the idea was mostly thrown out. but there are active studies on conservative vs liberal brains, showing higher right amygdala activity in conservatives - if I'm remembering correctly we had a speaker from the study come talk about it when I was in college.
