I read the novels years ago both Alina's story and Six of Crows. I love Shadow and Bone trilogy best though. I am not too much for a heist story because it is predictable that they win from the blurb, but character wise SoC is the most diverse and that's like the best aspect of it together with the expansion of the Grishaverse. I am diehard Alina Starkov tho and that's mainly because of what the fandom made her. The books alone are a bit bland at this point except some really cool details that I love and the whole slavic/gothic vibe. Also, the Darkling and Alinas relationship is intrigueing bc its just constant manipulation. I heard someone say Mal may deserve basic human rights in the tvseries as opposed to the books and they did produce it with chances in the roles to better adress diversity that realistically existed in the universe. Personally, i love Jessie mei li as Alina thus far, and i cant wait to see Nina and Inej and literally all of them on Friday. Somehow i think the darkling will be the least exciting of them. And also the monsters in the unsea, the trailer be like they disgusting af but nice animation. I hope Nikolai is in it but i guess he's not really present until Siege and Storm so probably no Stormhound on us yet. Also also, excited since the plot part with the Crows are all set before the books to better fit the timeline w alinas story so everything should be new.
