yes and pasta for me too but also subway bread or pizza
My only subway sandwich forever was literally Italian bread, with black olives, provolone cheese, bacon (one of few meats I ate), and parmesan cheese, toasted

How bland and sad
this honestly sounds good tho  i'm also very picky with my sandwiches, very bland fillings here too

Oof yeah-- I'm tryin to widen up my list a bit tho! Been askin for recipes from my friends
My comforts are probs pasta, chicken caesar salad, chicken legs (v specific ones with a specific marinade hah, lucky my corner store sells them) and sushi
And pizza,,, with chicken,,,,
Aaand my only order at subway is a chicken breast sandwich with the same few veggies
Maybe I should cut down my chicken consumption a lil bit,,,

I ate exclusively just pepperoni, chicken nuggets (only certain brands too), and fish sticks

All had to be prepared in a specific way

how did you become not picky though
I realized my diet was about control

I remember going on a kayaking trip at ten w/ my friends and I bit into some sandwich to not look weird (i was very secretive about my habits) and it tasted good, but it was on my forbidden list, so I threw it away when no one was looking

I did finally relent and enjoy corn dogs that trip and began eating them after that

I guess finally... I got sick of like, constantly hiding my food weirdness, so idk, I starting cooking my own food, mixing "forbidden" food w/ my favorites (pasta and cheese) until I just realized trying new things isnt always terrifying. And controlling food is more scary

oohh.. i'm glad you got out of that. for me its more that i literally cant eat many foods, or ingredients, will make me gag or throw up, just is not enjoyable. and with many i have actually tried to eat them more, i heard a saying that trying a food 30 times will make you like it, but seems like it is a myth, at least for me

Berries used to make me gag and I love them now!

Theres still certain food I wont eat. Canned tuna looks like cat food and I wont watch ppl eat it still

Cooking really helps you gain control, it makes trying new shit less scary, it's on your own terms

Also the preparation can matter, like I hate raw broccoli still, if the texture is just right I love it

Also have you tried pairing a favorite food with a fear food? I remember being so terrified of cream cheese cuz it looked gross... and then I orded it with a coffee I liked on my favorite bagel and it accidentally became a new fav... to be 11 and try cream cheese 4 the first time haha

Oh or I reccomend also comparing a forbidden food to a favorite... I hated raw berries but I liked blueberries in a pancake or waffle, so I just thought of that when I ate them on pb toast... and I love blueberries now and the mushy texture no longer makes me want to gag

For me it was a safe food, a food I wasnt afraid to eat, or wouldnt gag at the thought of, that I was in control of

Mostly sweets, cheese, bread, pasta, bacon, plain lays potato chips, lol
