interested to hear why not?
Striving to be better than others, having some sort of own value outside of what society gives u ig ? Wouldn't wanna work for the exact same thing as everyone else would, and I would assume it would just end up w no ppl becoming doctors or other stuff that has a very long and hard education cus theres no point
Stuff like that
hm i think u have some valid points, but also some less valid ones
first of all "striving to be better than others" i don't think this will disappear under communism, as everyone has instrinsic motivation to "do something with their lives". also, "better than others" is relative, would you consider a cashier job as lesser than a doctor's job? under communism every job is essential and everyone is equal (kind of the whole point of it)
and i think contrary to what you think, communism actually gives us more value outside of what society gives us. under capitalist society, our value is inherently tied to our ability to produce (capital). under communism, we would have value, as in the right to live and eat and have a roof over our head, regardless of our production.
"it would just end up w no ppl becoming doctors or other stuff that has a very long and hard education cus theres no point
Stuff like that"
this is a pretty common assumption that people make. if stuff is hard and you dont earn money, then why do it? but many people have answered this and i agree, to quote: "Cuba (communist country)has one of the highest number of doctors per capita, and on the opposite end of things the earliest healers predate currency or wealth accumulation. People have drives beyond those ascribed by the cynical individualism of modern capitalism."
there are many reasons besides money that someone would want to help others and work hard for it.
and about the "Wouldn't wanna work for the exact same thing as everyone else would,"
which is also something that people under capitalism feel comfortable in. to earn more than someone is inherently hierarchical. and communism works to eradicate all forms of class (it's classless and moneyless), so why work hard to get the same?
but here is a piece on it if you want to broaden your assumption:
