Not bad, just bland and unoriginal. Like just hurry already finish filming everything, with many cuts and short scenes to keep the viewers attention and dramatic fast paced music. Nothing artistic at all. As for the actors, I have no specifics in mind, ones that could bring the characters to life believably, so I can relate a little to them.

Because I can fully see how watching the show and not knowing shadow and bone trilogy\six of crows duology can make the characters feel flat because there's a lot that isn't coming forth in the series. e.g. the alina and the darkling romance that is a big part of book 1, but barely got any scenes in the series. and you wouldn't know the Crows well if you didn't pay close attention because a lot is in the details, and recognizing it is much easier if you already knew what to look for. like I'm sure the series didn't put anything into e.g. why Kaz wears gloves and doesn't like to be touched or his and Inej relationship, etc. even tho everything abt them in the series is brand new material. they improved Mal, at least. he in the book was terrible compared to the series. and we got the goat. i loved the goat and jasper.

the speed i will entirely blame on netflix terrible format of "8 episodes, no fillers, no time to learn properly about the characters"

No I have not read the books, my opinion only refers to the tv series. I thought the story has potential but it seemed to me it was executed shallow.

That is what I meant, with another network it could have been good and could have worked better.
