everyone in the country hates bavarians so they think they don't need to understand us
why do they hate you? xx
we are rich, have shitty conservative politicians  and we are perceived as arrogant also our federal state is prettier than the others.
We have this thing where richer states pay for poorer states, we finance like 2/3 of what berlin (always in debt) does.
you'd think if your helping them in terms of finance they'd be grateful and like you xx

i spoke a very strong dialect (karelian) as a kid and nobody at the daycare understood wtf i was talking about
traumatizing but kinda funny

i feel like these days the dialects have been watered down by internet lingo
there are some random region-specific words but otherwise everyone can understand one another

but my accent is completely incomprehensible in english
i'd have better luck conversing in sign language

i also like this one. so right way to ask what time it is in finnish is "paljonko kello on?" (literal translation = how much is clock)
but you might as well say "mitäpä se tiuku reppii?" (literal translation = what does that jingle bell tears). depends where you from it's 50/50 change you know what that means. i also think there's lot of different variatons of that too, but that's how you most likely will hear it being said in my area
ahh so one person could say one thing and the other person might think they mean something completely different haha xx

I wouldn't really say that I have a danish dialect or accent, I deffo don't speak sønderjysk n I don't speak sjællandsk. Is there a basic af jysk dialect? if so thats me lol, I've never come across anyone not understanding me or anything

my german is prob a tad influenced by my austrian conntections, my fellow students n so have often told me that its noticable but in comparison to my austrian family I feel as though I speak very standard german but o well

at this rate i think geordies might have to speak in sign language as well. I asked for bacon to be added to my cheese burger in the hard rock and they thought i was asking for baked cheese haha. We went to a chip shop called jack the chipper, we asked for some batter to put on our chips and they looked at us and were like what? we ended up seeing the scrap bits of batter from the fish haha xx

"kehdata (tehdä jotain)" in the east means "i have no energy (to do something)
but everywhere else it means "it's too shameful (to do something)"
funny that

i speak slang so when i moved to a different city none of the people know what i'm talking about i was once trying to buy a lighter from grocery store and thought of a word i thought was general language in advance but the cashier sold me matches
i struggle with this in my hometown too though it's quite annoying

There sure is a difference, not that's it's not understandable tho, but all the big islands and jylland each got there own touch i would say! Except bornholmere, they sure are hard to understand sometimes.
