More like everyone has been brainwashed into thinking that neoliberalism is amazing, which means that parties that have traditionally been considered leftist have had to adjust to a harsher climate where left-wing politics are considered outdated or whatever. Instead of taking a stand against all that shit and daring to be radical, they fall into step with the discourse that emphasises the market, competition, individual responsibility, austerity and so on.
I see that makes sense, personally neoliberalism is a bit extreme to me, privatisation of all means of production, minimal state and lower tax rates could lead to economic gain, especially in the short run but what's the use when on an individual level it's only a minority who gains from it
