i guess if you were mauled by a dog as a child you wouldnt have to seek that specific dog from the past in order toĀ reconcile, you can just talk to any dog really. but still its hard to fix something when you can barely pin point the problem in the first place

(based on comment above) If there's like a moment where you realize youĀ  really want to meet someone from your past but can't for x reason, then that's a scenario of accepting it and letting it go over time. But like first u gotta get there right, figure what you would want out of such a meeting, if ir would genuinely benefit you, if the other part would be up for it as well. Sometimes, letting go is like learning to aknowledge the existence of that want and how it pops up but learning not to ruminate on it, but still process it/feel it, knowing it is what it is, that you're still you and that they don't get to have the same control over you as they used to - - which could mean recognizing survival patterns you've created to deal w x thing and changing the habit to something "healthier." write a new narrative where this part of your life is a part of the backdrop instead of the ongoing story. Often you have to show up and do the "healthy change" hundreds of times before it starts feeling okay and like you.Ā 

Like inner child work is really about figuring out where and what you were (not) given as a child and the beliefs you created aren't helping you out anymore and to learn to trust yourself again and sorta to meet the younger version of yourself who carries and keep pushing x reactions to the surface w compassion wher you once was met w something negative when x thing happens.Ā 
Like u r holding your own hand and showing urself a better solution for this part of your life and w more knowledge. So keyword u need a awareness of old habit/reaction so you can consciously start to counteract it w healthy/new reaction which you wanna change it too and like be kind to urself and like it takes a while and many tries and fails and wins.Ā 

Like ppl can bullshitt spirituality as much as they want, but ir does force u to stir up ur own shit and figure out what is still stuck w u and personally, it can be quite clairfying. I personally don't experience it far from ppls why do u think u r like that-questions anywyas. Like idk what ur isssues are and im not gonna ask either, so it's like take what may be useful, discard the rest.Ā
