Are you using Word? Maybe it's different with other programs. 
I'm talking about the text only, I usually set the format to the standards they want to and then do ctrl+ a and set the whole document to standard so the format doesn't change whenever I make a new paragraph.

Sorry if I confused u

We don't get templates unfortunately just very specific instructions (like 50 pages) and we have to set all that stuff ourselves so I envy you and your template.
