I honestly think it's fair to compare it to Netflix's Bridgerton - where the TV series is known for inclusivity, but the books aren't as inclusive (and the author has said she doesn't feature POC because she thinks her characters will be racist) but I've not seen the same amount of outrage for the inclusivity in that series compared to stuff made because of nostalgia. (I might however have been ignorant) Another thing might be, that Bridgerton isn't really catering to the men in the population, but idk if there's any correlation there.
