The turn over in social services is nuts

I'm not a social worker but I'm a support worker for disabled adults in a group home turn over is ridiculous I feel bad for the residents

And as someone who grew up poor and also had a case manager once yeah workers come and go. High stress, low pay, shit benefits, crap managment, broken systems v sad

this is so true i had to get new support workers all the time when i was a teenager Sad

This is why professional relationships are important in any public service job. The people you serve arent your friends.

I bond deeply with one resident but I also intend to keep in touch with her, I got that approved

But yeah boundaries are important, you don't want to get too attached cuz you and your client may have to leave which can fuck with their psyche if they bonded with you. I see it all the time

yeahh its a rough one esp for me when I was smol bean w like foster system cause ppl at the institutions n whatnot kinda turned into stand-in parents you know,, vry tough not to get attached n blabla
