do u make matcha self at home too?? if so do u have any tips...
Yesss i doo i have the bamboo whisk and the bamboo spoon so i put like two tall spoons of matcha for dosage
there are two ways i’ve seen ppl do it
1. soften the whisk in hot water
2.
one is to sift and then whisk with ~70 degree C water (you don’t want to use boiling water it’s gonna kill the tea)
OR
this is what the tea seller showed and it’s to start with a bit of cold water to mix around and break up any big clumps and then following up with boiling water
3. whisk rly fast in Z and M motions use ur wrists to whisk rly fast don’t go too near the bottom of the bowl all the time as it’s gonna break down ur bamboo whisk faster :3
4. end with slower motions to break up bigger bubbles
5. done hihi
it’s a ritual
also then for milk i use a french press and also microwave the milk to like 70-80 (too hot is also gonna break down the proteins and make the milk not nice)
so u do 5 big pumps to add air then follow with many small pumps to break the bubbles into small bubbles, u want nice microfoam for nice drink texture, ofc cannot compare to steaming milk at work (industrial machine) but good enough for matcha at home :3
waaaa thank u!! im gonna screenshot and save this for when i save up for supplies :3
