it really depends on the person for me i have no problem being talkative if the person is around my age but older ppl? unless they are really cool and extroverted i dont bother lmfao

learned this from my bf but it helps me if i just repeat the last few words from whatever the other person said. like:

"blahblah yeah boat cool"
"oh, boat/boat, huh??"

and then they usually elaborate

Tbf I think it’s super dependent on your coworkers cos when I worked in an office I still hated it cause all my coworkers were old ladies and 80% of them were also incredibly boring on top of it
