I love Jodie in other stuff but the clips of Doctor Who I've seen really aren't my jam. It felt like a forced imitation of Tennant/Smith but that's just me. Yeah, I've heard massively that the plot is abysmal, which is a shame. Like the show has had questionable episodes before (Peter Kay as the globby dude... just ... no. gives me nightmares) but these are just more shit than questionable from what I've heard.
My parents personally really didn't like him and I didn't when I was a kid either. He just seemed really miserable. For me, it wasn't until I went back and rewatched them and understood his humour and demeanor more that I loved him.
From what I remember, the show didn't gain real traction until David Tennant's doctor - hence why he was the longest running Doctor. A lot of people's nowadays say that Eccleston was before his time.
Yup, it's always weird for me hearing people from other countries talking about Doctor Who. For years, it was just a British thing and then I started seeing it more and more online and the UK was just like? whuuuutt?? xD

I adore David. Really don't like Matt Smith but I am gonna watch his series fully, largely for the overarching story as it's my boyfriend's favourite plot line.
Me and my boyfriend are ostracised either way because we both really like Christopher Eccleston whereas most people really hate him cause they thought he was miserable xD
