but i do think that people are heavily overestimating what ai can and cannot do. general ai is so SO far from ever happening dfghjkl

AI won't take over for the next few years, because the people who use it are unintelligent too and don't believe simple answers from AI already because they're that bad at prompting it.

Source: Thomas, who hates feet, and sits very close to me at work complained loudly last month, because CoPilot gave him an unsatisfactory answer when he asked how many days were between x and y, and it didn't include end and start date, and he hasn't used AI since.

See the thing is that my mom doesn’t even know these things, like she scoffs as is when we talk about how we don’t like social media selling our data, but she listened to one radio program about it and she is like they’re gonna take over the world in abyear

ig it’s fear of the unknown,,, it seems like the people who either know the least about ai or they he least about the things ai are replacing seem to overestimate it the most,,, like any artist I know rn can identify how bad ai is at a lot of things in art but people who don’t know art stuff or ai stuff will be like woooow amazinnn

Yea! Altho I can technically work at a clinic now after the summer at the same capacity as someone with a vocational animal care degree but I ain’t about summer work I’m lazyyy
