It's an umbrella term for people who don't identify as either male or female, many nb people have dysphoria and do at least some parts of transitioning to feel more comfortable and others don't. Some id as trans, others feel like they aren't trans/not allowed to use the label but are still not cis.

There are plenty of trans people out there that make videos and write articles about what it means to be trans, as well as doctors, psychologists and other professionals.
