I think cotton or linnen both would work! Though a petticoat underneath it will give it more poof, but I don't know if that's what you want. I was going for the same shape with Punzie, but never ended up using a petticoat because the tule gives it the poof I wanted, so adding a petticoat is meh.

I'm lowkey thinking of making like a cosplay blog or something. I don't know. I wrote a giant piece for another game I play because people were interested and I wrote so much and I really enjoyed that. I once started a website but quit it lol, but I'm literally already documenting everything I do so adding text wouldn't be too hard I guess. I don't know.
I’m not gonna do a petticoat. I might make a poofy underskirt with the fabric i’ve had forever that used to be a underskirt from a ball gown.  And I don’t really mind if it isn’t that poofy.
Speaking just like Merida lol

Okay so I ended up buying that sparkly fabric, but I cancelled it already too. It turns out that all the glitter is just glued on and it gets loose which means glitter will ne everywhere. It sucks because now I have to find new lace ...

Do you want to cosplay more or will this be the only one for you?

I haven't ever never cosplayed anything in my life, even tho I have kept thought about it. I just don't know where to begin with. I would love to cosplay Sugar Plum Mercy from Overwatch or Yennefer & Ciri from Witcher. I was also interested in cosplaying Morrigan Aensland.

How did you all started to cosplaying? Is it expensive? What started should know?

Aah I see but you could always search for small conventions or maybe travel to somewhere else there you know a lot of conventions exist ^^ If you friends that are interested to you can go with them but you could also go with friends that don’t cosplay but likes to see others cosplays! But I understand if you don’t have the material or time right now for it but you could always take baby steps

My tipsy is to start with something small and easy, but you could always buy a costume if you don’t have much experience with sewing. Buying a costume can be expensive tho and you need to get the right size and everything. You could also do budget cosplay too which means you use clothes/things you already got at home.
My first cosplay was Queen of Hearts from Alice Madness Returns which was a big challenge for a newbie like me. I have learned through the time that you should begin with something easy if you are new or don’t have much experience with sewing. Use material like worbla, foam and similar stuff to make armor and weapons. You should also know that the first cosplay will not be the best but as you continue you will get better and better ^^
Start with small conventions if you feel like you want to start small and just see what it is all about!

I didn't read what others wrote, but here's what my experience is pretty much.

I don't know if you've ever been to a con before, but I guess I would start with that. I went once not in cosplay. First time ever, so i had no idea what to expect. I knew about cosplaying and all, but you know, first con so spending money on a costume that I might not even wear just didn't appeal to me xD Buuttt surprise surprise I loved it. So next time I went to a con, I sort of did a closet cosplay (Emma Swan from Once Upon a Time). Those were things I would wear in real life so buying that costume wouldn't be a complete waste if I ended up not liking cosplay. But I loved it hahaha.

To answer your question about is it expensive. It's as expensive as you make it. I bought a dress on Amazon for around 60 euros and that was so much for me! I didn't wanna spent hundreds of euros, but I wanted something that looked good and not too cheap (now that I look back on the dress it's exactly that but I didn't know that then lol; was a perfect starter dress). Nowadays, I'm spending hundreds of euros in my costume. Only difference is that I make it, so I'm not buying the whole thing at once, but I spend every now and then money on my costume. I counted the price for my Mal jacket and wig and that was around 100 euros as well, so buying it would've been cheaper probably lol. I guess it's just what you want. I would say put a limit when you buy for example. It's really easy to buy something more expensive when you can't really afford it. Also check reviews if you buy online! I've heard lots of people who had big issues with it soooo that's something to keep in mind.

And if you have more questions, feel free to ask!

I got an overlock for christmas so I guess I'll be making  my cosplays now 👌🏻 have I ever used an overlock before? Nope. Do I know the basics of making clothes from scratch? Pretty much No. 😂 this will be fun lmao

I plan to make Ryder from frozen 2 ♡
