well, doesn't have to be super deep, like if you have a person that keeps introducing you to new stuff or keeps bringing up different views on topics so you can broaden your horizon, that's kinda what plays into it too
I don't think being human necessitates growth. I think you should just strive to be happy and not hurt anyone while you do.

i have to disagree but i understand why you think like that. no one is obligated to stimulate another in any way and i think plenty of people are content with "shallow" friendships, but it's also nice to have people around you that can be supportive and help you grow in some way. but if you expect all your friendships to offer you something, you most likely don't have many friends

First of all, not everyone is like that (duh), not everyone is an internet person. Secondly, they're just being themselves and not hurting anyone by doing it, even if they are obnoxious as fuck. Just don't befriend them? I don't see why you feel the need to make it clear to everyone you're not like those gays.
